Why Tropicoir
Coir that behaves the same way, bag after bag, season after season.
Variation in a substrate turns into variation in the crop. Every Tropicoir product is made from selected Sri Lankan coconut husk, aged, washed and screened to a specification you can plan around, and tested batch by batch before it ships.
Low EC, stable pH
Washed to under 0.5 mS/cm (method 1:5 V/V) at pH 5.5-6.5, with batch testing of EC, pH and moisture.
Mixes to order
Any peat-to-fibre ratio - 100% peat, 80:20, 70:30, 60:40 or 50:50 - matched to your crop and irrigation strategy.

From coconut husk to a certified substrate in five controlled steps.
Husk selection
Mature coconut husks from established growers in Sri Lanka's coconut-growing regions.
Ageing and washing
Pith is aged, then washed with fresh water to bring salts down to the specified EC grade.
Screening
Coir peat is screened to under 12 mm, and husk chips are graded separately to 6-7 mm.
Mixing
Peat, fibre and husk chips are combined in the ratio your crop and irrigation need.
Compression and testing
Pressed into blocks, bales, slabs, disks or cubes; each batch is tested for EC, pH and moisture before shipping.
